Sox & Shadow

STATUS: Adopted

Meet Sox & Shadow ! They are a gentle bonded pair of sweet boys. Shadow is about 5 years young and Sox is about 7 years young. Sox and Shadow were living under the wheelchair ramp of an apartment building, being fed by some of the tenants. When the landlord threatened to evict the tenants for feeding the cats, Hearts to Homes was called. Sox is the more outgoing of the two and will warm up quickly. Shadow is more reserved until he gets to know you. They love to play and chase balls and love to birdwatch out a window. As they are gentle souls, they would be okay with gentle children. They would be great in a mature home with lots of love to give.

Sox & Shadow have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Shadow tested negative for FIV/FELV but Sox has tested positive for FIV. Cats can live long, healthy lives with FIV. Studies have shown that cats with FIV often live as long as cats that do not have this virus. The virus is specific to cats and cannot be spread to people or other animals such as dogs or rabbits. FIV is also not easily spread among cats. Cats cannot get it from shared food or water bowls or from grooming or play fighting. It is only spread through a deep bite – deep enough to inject saliva into the bloodstream of another cat. FIV & Non-FIV cats can live quite happily together. It is most commonly found in unneutered males living outdoors that fight for territory. For more information, please refer to the following links.
