Jack
STATUS: Adopted

Meet Jack! Jack is a very handsome panther about 4 years old. He loves people and is a door greeter – he runs to greet everyone that comes into his foster home. Jack has a very sweet & gentle temperament. He loves chin scritches & pets and he even likes belly rubs. He will play with a laser pointer although he waits for just the right moment to pounce. He loves his cat tree and bird watching. He is good with the other cats in his foster home even though they pick on him sometimes. He would be great with children as he is so gentle.
Jack came to us from a local vet when his owners brought him in to be euthanized. He had a blockage from urinary crystals. The cost to unblock Jack was something his owners could not afford. It is so important to feed wet food everyday to cats to help prevent urinary crystals which are caused by a dry kibble diet alone. Hearts to Homes took Jack in and he had the surgery to widen his urethra so that he would not block again. Jack needs to be on a urinary diet for the rest of his life and needs a home that is okay spending a little more on his dry & wet food each month for a veterinary grade diet. Jack also has been diagnosed with idiopathic cystitis (FIC). His only symptom is blood in his urine. FIC is an inflammation of the bladder that comes and goes in times of high stress. A bout can last 5-7 days. Keeping Jack on the urinary diet will help. Products like a Feliway diffuser can also help reduce stress. Despite his urinary issues, Jack has never missed his litter box. He has always been his sweet, playful self. He would love another young friendly cat to play and buddy with.
Jack has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FELV. If you have room in your heart and your home for this sweet boy, contact us here or email [email protected]. The adoption fee is $200.
