Sophie

STATUS: Adopted

Meet Sophie! This gorgeous girl is just under 1 year old and is searching for her forever home.

Sophie is a cuddly, affectionate girl who LOVES to be the centre of attention! She is used to being the only cat in her home, and she would love a forever family who will treat her like a total princess. She is playful and silly. She is generally quite gentle but has been known to swat (claws in) when she is overwhelmed. For this reason, we are recommending a home without young children. She would be fine with children over the age of reason who understand feline body language. Sophie has a big personality: she loves to chase her toys, sprint up and down her cat tower, and even chase her own tail. At the end of a long day of shenanigans, she loves to cuddle up on the couch or in bed and snuggle with her foster mom. Her ideal home would be with someone who is home most of the time and has lots of time to hang out with her. She would also love a home with lots of windows to watch the birds! She is VERY chatty and loves to follow her foster mom around after work to catch her up on everything she missed. She is always waiting at the door to let you know exactly how much she missed you!

Sophie lost the only home she has ever known through no fault of her own. The experience traumatized her, and when she came to her foster home, she was very scared. This only lasted a few days, and it was clear to her foster family that she simply did not know how to be around new people. She is fiercely loyal to those she trusts, and she will likely need a little time in a new home to build that trust with her forever family. Sophie grew up with a mid-sized, gentle dog, and would love to have a canine companion in her forever family!

Sophie’s adoption fee is $175. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. She tested positive for FIV. Cats can live long, healthy lives with FIV. Studies have shown that cats with FIV often live as long as cats that do not have this virus. The virus is specific to cats and cannot be spread to people or other animals such as dogs or rabbits.
